In 2010, local developer Steve Whalen wanted to create a positive vibe for Catonsville and, with the help of local realtor Karen Gatzke, formed the “We Love Catonsville” non-profit.  With the assistance of Maude and Dan Swearingen of Fully Promoted Arbutus, Karen created several promotions, including the popular “Life is Great in 21228” car magnets and other promotional gear.

Residents loved the magnets that were distributed from 2010 to 2018 at the annual Catonsville July 4th parade.  Thousands of magnets were produced, and residents looked forward to each new design with great anticipation.  Residents who had moved out of state frequently contacted Karen to get the latest magnet shipped to them.

The post office bench was a perfect place to display this treasured Catonsville logo.
